August and beyond…

Hi everybody!

Hope you all are enjoying the summer and getting to do some really cool stuff, especially enjoying your favorite artists!

Blissfest was an incredible experience and I was able to perform 4 times over the festival weekend. I am also a Featured Artist on Blissfest Radio with 9 songs total in the rotation!  Go to www.live365.com to check it out. A whole tribe of various Blissfest artists are in the rotation and are streaming to over 30 countries!  How cool is that?

Some great events are coming up in the next few months.  Big news for August is I will be performing at The Ark in Ann Arbor on August 26.  This is going to be a great show as I have the honor of opening for one of my favorite Michigan artists, Julianne Ankley and the Rogues.  Julianne and I spent the winter writing together and we are excited to present some of those songs.  Show starts at 8PM and tickets can be purchased at www.theark.org/shows-events/ticket-information.

This summer has also been the kick off for a new and unique project, Music Meets Canvas.  I perform music while the extraordinarily talented Marina Hahn creates a painting.  We have themed this years series Women in Music,  honoring women who have made significant contributions to the music world.  So far Linda Ronstadt, Janis Joplin, Carly Simon, Ann & Nancy Wilson and Bette Midler have emerged from our collective art.  We have 2 shows this month at the Walloon Lake Winery, August 20 and 27.  Please visit our facebook page www.facebook.com/musicmeetscanvas and give us a like!  We would love to see you at the Walloon Lake Winery, www.facebook.com/pages/Walloon-Lake-Winery/670558796333794.

Finally, it is time for the 2nd Annual Mackinac Island Songwriters Workshop October 16-18 and we are kicking things off on September 11 with a special show at the Crooked Tree Art Center in Petoskey.  Show starts at 7PM.  We will be featuring a music class from the Petoskey Montessori Children’s House who wrote 4 songs last year, Music Meets Canvas and a Songwriter in the Round set from Pete Kehoe, Julianne Ankley and Michael Crittenden.  Check out www.mackinacislandsongwritersworkshop.org to learn more about what we do to encourage and support the craft of songwriting.  Tickets for the show will be available soon.

Whew, that was a lot to pack in one newsletter!  Hope to see you at one of my shows and please check out these special events — they are not to be missed!

Peace,
Michelle
